Dream: A Closet Big Enough For A Couch Isn't Enough, I Guess.

There's a familiar dream space that I visit every few months. I've been visiting it for many years... And when I am in it, it feels real.

Most of the times, in my dreams, I know it is not real.

But this one space is eerily familiar.

It starts off with a house.

It's multi-story house, in a big city. In my dream, I used to live in the house and know it well still. It is like walking into a sophisticated townhome designed to be in Architectural Digest. The lighting is perfect - dim and cozy. The space is decorated in soft mocha and cream shades, and that cozy lighting is warm.

I know that upstairs are a few levels with bedrooms and meeting rooms and a gym and more.

I also know that in one of the rooms there is a secret entrance in and out of it via a very small opening in the closet ceiling. You have to jackknife your body and swing yourself into it feet first... To which it will connect you to the hidden room that can also be accessed through the garage. To get to it from the garage you have to climb up a bunch of shelves and squeeze through an opening.

There is a familiar "energy" in this house. This is their house too. They don't know about the hidden room or how to get to it though.

I dreamt of the house again this past weekend. Only this time, there was a new energy there. One I hadn't come across in any of my dream spaces...

I was in the house again. But this time I was giving the new energy a tour of the house. I was working hard to sell them on the house, because I was trying to leave it - for the most part.

"I love it here. Look at this gym with it's olympic-sized swimming pool! And look at this wine collection room... The house just goes on and on! There is so much here that you should love!"

They appreciated everything I was telling them. But they didn't think the house was right for them, even though they felt pressured to be there.

"Can you show me the closets?"

I momentarily worried they wanted access to the one that has the opening to the hidden room.

But that wasn't what they wanted.

They wanted to see the biggest closets in the space.

"I'm used to small closets. I need a bigger closet. A few of them."

I assumed they had a lot of bags or clothes.

"I completely understand," I said. "I have a collection too."

They said they didn't have a collection.

"I'm different," they said. "I'm in the closet. I need a bigger one or I won't be able to handle living here with them."

The "them" being the other energy that was living in the space.

Then it clicked.

"Oh," I said. "You're gay. And they don't realize it."

Yes, they said.

"Let me show you the big closets you could fit a couch in," I said. "I don't want you leaving if you don't have to."

And I did everything I could to convince them to stay in the house so that I could leave and get some space.

The dream ended before I could find out if they did. I have a feeling they at least stay for a little while. But eventually thee closets won't be big enough, and they will have to leave. And then it will be me comforting that energy again from the dream.
