Antarctica: Wilhelmina Bay & Enterprise Island.
New Year's Day 2014... We reached our first stop in the Antarctic Peninsula was Wilhelmina Bay & Enterprise Island.
We didn't touch land on this first excursion... But rather cruised around in the zodiac boats.
Touring around the bay, we discovered the wreckage of the Guvernoren, a whaling factory ship.
And I got to view my first icebergs up close!
Gentoo Penguins!
These guys were the ones we saw most often on our excursions to land. It was an exciting morning for us.

Sculptural and clean. The blue comes from a lack of oxygen when the iceberg was formed.
We glided out into field of Antarctic ice pieces drifting...
And then we got to see our first penguins!
