Ugliest Bag Ever: Buxton Bag.
I've seen some ugly bags in my time... Prior to today, the worst one I had seen (in my opinion) was the Fendi "B" bag. But while flipping through TV channels a few moments ago, I came across a bag that I find even more offensive than the "B" bag.
May I introduce you to the Buxton Bag?
Talk about atrocious! Have you seen anything uglier in your time?
I mean, sure, it holds a lot of stuff... But this bag is not flattering in any way, shape or form against your way, shape or form.
First off, the shoulder strap... It's too wide. But I guess that's because the bag is meant to be worn across your body, like a messenger bag.
Then, the "genuine" leather looks creepy. It has a feel of "plastic," by the looks of the picture above.
Then, what's up with all the zippers and pockets? Well, actually, I get why there are so many of those. It's a bag for those that want to be "super organized." But this is just ridiculous.
They shouldn't bother trying to pitch this bag as a way to "organize in fashion." Because it is NOT a fashionable bag. It's an ergonomic (and ugly) nightmare.
UPDATE:
Since so many people have left comments asking what I think would be a more ideal bag solution for those wanting to stay organized and fahsionable... I have a bag that I would recommend, and you can read about it here: The Butler Bag.

And it's not so much that I "don't have a use for this bag." I am a career woman who commutes to work each day, and then heads to the gym afterwards.. So I certainly do need a bag that can hold a lot.
But I, personally, also need it to look pretty. And match my personal style. And my style happens to NOT be the "fanny pack on strap" style.
It's an ugly bag. And the people who carry it obviously are comfortable with the bag as it is. So, "hoo-ray" for them.
I ordered this bag on December 28th and they sent me an email saying 3 to 4 weeks delivery. I called on January 25th and was told that it would be shipped on the coming Thursday... I wanted that bag for two trips I've, now, already made! Now I come home, again and no bag! I called their "customer services" number and it says it is on back order. Come on! Why make a sale and charge my card and not tell me it's on back order?
This is a bogus company!
I've asked them to "Please respond to this inquiry and let me know if I will ever get my bag."
So what do you recommend for the 'ideal Bag'?
I have been searching for a while and can't find anything that is small yet nice. I had my thoughts about the Buxton Bag, but worries about it not being a quality leather or looking too bulky from having so much in it.
Don't ever fall for these TV specials. Often times, the shipping and handling makes up for any low prices.
bags because of the great organization possibilities. It came in the mail today and Missus is right it DOES feel like plastic. I want to send it back and get a refund. There is no way that it will hold all they say it will hold. Problem is they didn't send any instructions on how to return it! I may be out 29 bucks.
It appears that this operation is something of a ripoff in that the delayed deliveries gives them a lot of "free" money to play with. What items that get delivered apparently result from what Sears did in its early days of obtaining orders, then finding manufactures/fabricators that were willing to deliver large quantities at al price. By contracting their front/back office activities, they don't even have employees.
It arrived after about ten days.
There is a strong leather smell, but not offensive, and you can NEVER have too many pockets- I love the organizer aspect, although the shape is more long than wide, which requires adaptation.
No..its not beautiful, but who cares? Function is more important than beauty, and I like it.
I'm am totally disappointed in it. Back to my ugly but useful "Ameribags," I'm afraid.

A nice website I found (and I have been using their laptop cases for a while now) is briefcase.com
I'm looking at their site for messenger bags.
Any other sites for decent messenger bags?
They have all kinds of bags at good prices.
So, for those of you who have children and need your hands free -this is a great alternative!
I found this bag at Rite Aid for $20. Having seen the TV commercials, I figured I'd give it a try. If I didn't like it, it was an easy return. (NOT true of things bought off informercials or the internet!)
It took 5 days to de-stinkify it. I don't know if "Genuine Leather" means "diseased Yak skin". Finally got the smell out.
You can put a lot of SMALL things in the many many compartments. (Good luck remembering where you put what!)
But I sometimes need to carry a book or folder or 3 DVDs -- so I've gone back to my old canvas tote bag. I use the Buxton Bag when going out someplace like the theater or out to dinner, cuz it looks better than the canvas tote. And things are less likely to spill out.
But I'm still looking for "the perfect bag"!
I've been sorely tempted by this bag on TV for a long time, but I don't ever buy anything over the phone - first of all, who's to say that phone answerer isn't writing down all your credit card information into a notepad and taking it home with them, and second of all, you have to wait for and pay for shipping...
Anyway.
I went out to walgreens today after reading here that they carried them, and sure enough I found one. I proceeded to sit down on the floor and test the bag out, and after a nice half hour in the drug store, I'm the proud owner of one. Let me address some of the concerns here.
1. That's how leather smells, people. Walk into an Eddie Bauer store sometime.
2. The quality is not the best. It's also a $20 purse. Get over yourself.
3. It's not the prettiest bag in the word and it's certainly not designer. It's also a $20 purse! You know what's uglier than this bag? A canvas coach bag covered in their logo so everyone knows what you bought.
4. The strap is wide, yes, and it is made of..strap material. Not leather. However, it's easier to adjust that way and very comfortable for wearing across the body, how it's meant to be worn.
Well, overall I like the bag, and I'm gonna carry it until it falls apart. I've had everything from 400 dollar coach leather bags and 10 dollar walmart bags and they all tear up eventually with the wear I put them through. We'll see how this one does.
And no, it doesn't matter how much a bag costs... It matters what the quality of the bag is like. And if you are used to trashy faux-leather and design that has no style, then YES, THIS IS THE BAG FOR YOU.
But for those of us with style, we will go for a carry-all that has some personality... Whether it costs $5000.... $500... $50... or $5...
Don't hate on people with style because they're more than happy to spend lots of money on a fine bag. One of my favorite bags is a $2 blue straw bag I got from Wal-Mart in 2002.
And didn't I mention I've had four HUNDRED dollar Coach leather bags before? They fell apart just like the cheap ones.
Nevermind. Go play with your Bonzi Buddy. I'm going to see what else I can stuff in my purse.
You must be jealous of something.
I volunteer for various sporting events and music events and I'm just looking for something like this.
And since when Buxton started making bags like the one on tv? I thought they just make wallets and other accessories? Is this bag made by the *actual* Buxton company or is it by another company that is just using the brand name?
Also for those who have problems with the company...have you reported it to the Better Business Bureau? If I ran into problems like that...I would file my complaint to the BBB in a heartbeat.
It's just a thought.
"BUXTON IS THE BEST BAG EVER"
Yuck!
I have seen this Buxton bag advertised and looked it up online and thought , hh'mmmmm , maybe it would be what I'm looking for as I do like to be organized.
I recently found it in Bed, Bath and Beyond and while I did not find the feel of the 'genuine leather' to be plastic, I still did not purchase the bag.
For BBB, even tho the box showed brown bags or black bags, the contents of each box was a black bag , so what's up with that BBB? And to Buxton or whomever they have contracted to make this bag , why do they feel it's necessary to stamp the words "genuine leather" on the outside of the bag?
I do want to thank you all, because you have provided some valuable insight and food for thought.
Has anyone checked out the Wilsons Leather site??
http://www.wilsonsleather.com/
If I remember correctly, this is where I bought my last bag and it's holding up very very well.
While not as economical as the $20 Buxton bag, they do have a couple of shoulder bags in the $50-$70 range that are organizers - I think one is even on sale. And their quality is excellent.
Just a thought for those who may still be looking for another option.
How simple is that?
They have different colors, but personally, I like the black.
It's not a fashion statement, but it's handy, inexpensive, great for travel/sightseeing, and hsn is reputable.
Their bag is selling for 14.97 or two for 22.46 with 6.95 per purse for shipping. Then I went to their site and it states free shipping with orders of 30.00 or more.
They have a nice catalog of products and have some seen on TV items. They also have another more stylish purse the 2in1 Magic Handbag that has a side unzipped purse that you can detach if you want a smaller bag for the day. It runs 19.97 that has 6 pockets and 5 credit card pockets.
They also have a catalog of products and some seen on TV items at good prices.
I bought one there.
I love it.
No shipping $$.
I respect your opinion and I appreciate the information that you put in your post. However, I just wanted to say that I prefer the Buxton bag because of its usage. It just suit my lifestyle. Thanks.

I have used a Buxton for about three years and love it, In my basic, daily life, I have no need to be a fashion plate, I just want to be organized and reasonably efficient in my life.
On dress up occasions, I use a cocktail bag, but for daily life, IMHO, you can't beat this little well-organized bag.
