Butler Bag - The Perfect Work Bag.

Last December, right before the New Year, I wrote about an atrocious bag (fashion-wise) that I saw on TV called the "Buxton Bag." That post has produced over 45 comments since last December... And often people wrote in to ask me what kind of bag I would recommend since I found the Buxton Bag so offensive...

Well, I think I have found one for you people... And this really useful and stylish bag is called the Butler Bag Hybrid.

Sure, it's bigger than the Buxton Bag, but it has an organizer inside with compartments to separate everything. It can hold a small laptop, as well as keys, makeup, books, bottles, electronics, etc...

The design of the bag is very clean, but polished... So it has a proper sophistication that (I think) translates well in a professional setting.

This is a perfect solution for those who want to stay organized but also fashionable.

Gee, only $165?. Don't be an idiot. Buy the nice looking Buxton.

I still contend that the Buxton Bag is ugly... If organization is a must for you in a bag, this is a solid solution.

I gotta say...I got the Buxton bag and it's absolutely amazing for organizing all your stuff. I looked at this bag after the fact and decided, despite the price, to give it a chance...and it's HUGE and NOT as well organized as it's much cheaper sibling. If fashion is the only thing in the world you care about, don't go with the Buxton, because even though it's amazing useful, it may not pass Liz Claiborne's approval. If you're entirely too into fashion yet still looking for a bag that will kind of almost fit your organizing needs, then get the Butler Bag.

Don't be stupid, for 20 bucks, and 4 kids hanging on your every free limb, Buxton is the way to go.

The best bag for the price is a plastic bag from any grocery store. You can even double bag for extra hold strength.

Well, I have to admit that the Buxton bag is made of very poor quality materials and is about an inch not wide enough. However, for someone with fibromyalgia or shoulder issues, the messenger strap part of the design would be much more appealing than the idea of having to lug this monstrosity. This bag just makes me feel tired.

Actually, I like the design of the Buxton enough to try to re-engineer it with good materials and some tweaks with a seamstress friend.

Oh gawd. You spent 165 bucks on a purse? Well, guess one of the things you won't be putting in it is money. Lmfao.

Oh honey... I've spent more than $165 on a purse.

My most expensive bag cost me $1750. And I LOVE it.

Some people buy cars... And I think that is stupid. I but bags... And not only do I buy bags, but if I ever wanted to resell some of them... They are editions that I could get far more for than what I paid.

Most cars, you can not get a third of what you paid for it. Driving it off the lot drops the price by about 25%.

I am the girl who will take the bus and save the environment, but carry the nice stylish bag.

Well I have to admit that it looks better than the Buxton, but I'm a college girl, so can't spend that amount of money yet.

Yeah... I wasn't able to afford nice designer bags till about 8-9 years after I graduated university. When you're in school, fashion definitely has a very strict budget.

I realize I'm commenting on an old thread, but when traveling, the Buxton is WONDERFUL! Sightseeing around a city without lugging a purse on one shoulder, or stuffing everything in your pockets -if you have any, is a great convenience. The messenger strap leaves your hands free, and is more secure. So I wasn't a fashion plate *shrug* I could travel in a way that makes me more comfortable, therefore it's more enjoyable, or I can worry about what a bunch of strangers think for all of 30 seconds -if they even spend that long looking down their nose at me. Hmm, what to do, what to dooo ;).

Get a life. No one cares what bag you're holding.

Oh please... You get a life! It's not what others think that matters! It's what you think about yourself!

And I am sorry... But if I was walking around carrying this piece of shit Butler Bag, I'd know I was depressed and had given up on trying to be happy.

This is a bag for depressed people.

You gals that spend THAT much on a bag need your head's examined! If I was going to spend $1750 on something it would be a VACATION and I would use the Buxtom bag when I went to an island somewhere!

$165 for a purse?.....yah right! After filling that bag up who is going to pay for back or shoulder surgery? Oh yah I forgot..if you have $1750 for a purse you have enough for a few surgeries.

With the Buxton Bag you get what you pay for... a cheap piece of s---. I've had two friends buy and they are useless and getting your money back forget it. I'd pay $175 for a QUALITY bag if I knew it would be sturdy and last years. because most $20-$30 dollar bags wear out too quick. As for $1,750 well I like nice things but things don't make me happy. Experiences and the People in my life mean more that silly fashion.

Im a man who use the buxton when traveling with my wife and kids. I like the size, compartments, and definitely the shoulder strap. The con is that it has fallen apart in no time at all. I'm guessing a quality bay is going to cost close to 100 bucks or more, but if it lasts its worth it. Now 1700 bucks that is pretty frivoulous for my frugal mined self.

interesting that The Missus calls the Butler bag a piece of sh*t?

I for one am now confused.
Me said…
Really? I din't see how that is confusing... Not only is it clearly an ugly bag but, according to comments posted here, the QUALITY is very much lack. Poor quality + ugly design = piece of shit bag.

Oh. I see. I thought that was the Buxton bag, not the Butler bag. I thought the Butler bag was the perfect one. But the comment said

"And I am sorry... But if I was walking around carrying this piece of shit Butler Bag, I'd know I was depressed and had given up on trying to be happy.

This is a bag for depressed people."

So I am still confused I guess.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and clearly this is a site I wouldn't revisit. Someone has a very boring life and way too much time on thir hands to spew negativity and useles information to other, lifeless people. Off to a fabulous breakfast with the most expensive accessory money can buy -my wonderful husband and three beautiful children. Good luck to you!
