Ugliest Bag Ever: Buxton Bag.

I've seen some ugly bags in my time... Prior to today, the worst one I had seen (in my opinion) was the Fendi "B" bag. But while flipping through TV channels a few moments ago, I came across a bag that I find even more offensive than the "B" bag.

May I introduce you to the Buxton Bag?

Talk about atrocious! Have you seen anything uglier in your time?

I mean, sure, it holds a lot of stuff... But this bag is not flattering in any way, shape or form against your way, shape or form.

First off, the shoulder strap... It's too wide. But I guess that's because the bag is meant to be worn across your body, like a messenger bag.

Then, the "genuine" leather looks creepy. It has a feel of "plastic," by the looks of the picture above.

Then, what's up with all the zippers and pockets? Well, actually, I get why there are so many of those. It's a bag for those that want to be "super organized." But this is just ridiculous.

They shouldn't bother trying to pitch this bag as a way to "organize in fashion." Because it is NOT a fashionable bag. It's an ergonomic (and ugly) nightmare.

UPDATE:
Since so many people have left comments asking what I think would be a more ideal bag solution for those wanting to stay organized and fahsionable... I have a bag that I would recommend, and you can read about it here: The Butler Bag.

I love this bag. I don't find that it is ugly and it is very practical. If you have kids you can appreciate.

I agree I have a 4 year old and when I saw the bag on tv I was just dreaming up all of the stuff I could cram in it. Just as long as I look good I don't care about the style of the bag.

You apparently don't have a use for this bag, "I saw it flipping through TV channels", and you slam the quality without ever laying you hands on one, "It has a feel of "plastic," by the looks of the picture above." and speaking of that picture, did you get permission to use it, or did you just plagerize it?
Me said…
Since you asked... The way I take my "pictures" online is I use a photo-capturing software. If I see a picture of something online, I take a shot of it.

And it's not so much that I "don't have a use for this bag." I am a career woman who commutes to work each day, and then heads to the gym afterwards.. So I certainly do need a bag that can hold a lot.

But I, personally, also need it to look pretty. And match my personal style. And my style happens to NOT be the "fanny pack on strap" style.

It's an ugly bag. And the people who carry it obviously are comfortable with the bag as it is. So, "hoo-ray" for them.

agree with you missus!!! that is the most horrendous bag ever (even worse than those horrible quilted Vera Bradley things). it doesn't even look like a bag for a woman! ech!

Hey,
I ordered this bag on December 28th and they sent me an email saying 3 to 4 weeks delivery. I called on January 25th and was told that it would be shipped on the coming Thursday... I wanted that bag for two trips I've, now, already made! Now I come home, again and no bag! I called their "customer services" number and it says it is on back order. Come on! Why make a sale and charge my card and not tell me it's on back order?
This is a bogus company!
I've asked them to "Please respond to this inquiry and let me know if I will ever get my bag."
Anonymous said…
I also placed an order for one. I don't care how ugly it is, I have never found a purse that stayed on my shoulder and I hate holding them so this was a perfect bag for me, yet I never received it. It has been over 2 months now and I am still being told it is on backorder. They never charged my card and I canceled the order. Why would a company spend so much money on TV ads if they don't have the product. Stupid if you asked me!
Me said…
That totally sucks for you guys who ought it and haven't gotten it yet. So ridiculous. I say, "Quit running the ads till you have it in stock again."

So what Bag would YOU recommend Missus? I have been thinking of getting this bag but keep putting it off, thinking - it's probably cheap imitation leather (that cracks & flakes after a little wear). I need something that will be small (I am a small framed - Computer Guru) - so I need something that will hold my Cell, PDA, MP3, cigerettes, lighter along with all the other 'things' ;-) I NEED with me at ALL times (HUGE Smile) - not 'needing things with me' is a big lesson I have yet to learn -LOL.
So what do you recommend for the 'ideal Bag'?

You could always look on a site like e bay or amazon to find something similar, they ship promptly.

Thanks, but I don't do 'Ebay' after what happened to me hackers - UGH! I wanted 'The Missus' to answer since she put this Buxton bag down so much - what her suggestion would be to a better bag that holds a lot w/o looking so 'hideous'

I have been searching for a while and can't find anything that is small yet nice. I had my thoughts about the Buxton Bag, but worries about it not being a quality leather or looking too bulky from having so much in it.

This company is a complete scam, I ordered the bag in January, it is March and I still have not received it. I call and get the same answer, that it is back ordered. Be careful of this company they are real scam artist. If you used your credit card, their site is not secure and your information may have been exposed. It is not a SSL website, https... so if you entered in your credit card information, be afraid, very afraid....

I ordered the Buxton Bag on Feb. 22, 2008 and received it on March 21, 2008 so I don't think the company is bogus. I just opened up the package today and I'm trying to determine just what I think of the bag. It might have too many compartments. The leather smell is very strong, kind of nauseating. I didn't order the upgrade leather, just the regular and it looks kind of cheap. How practical it will be for me is still a question.

I ordered the bag on January 23rd, received it on March 22nd. I put my stuff in it Sunday night and it fell apart Monday evening. This bag is poorly made. I plan to request a refund.

I ordered the bag and got it within a week. I didn't order from the buxton website, but from the as seen on tv site. The problem I have is the smell. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the terrible smell? It's not worth returning, since i'm stuck paying shipping both ways and that's almost as much as the bag.

Watch out! You will get ripped off if you click a link to a $40 discount on their products.

Don't ever fall for these TV specials. Often times, the shipping and handling makes up for any low prices.

I ordered one of these ugly (and I agree they are ugly)
bags because of the great organization possibilities. It came in the mail today and Missus is right it DOES feel like plastic. I want to send it back and get a refund. There is no way that it will hold all they say it will hold. Problem is they didn't send any instructions on how to return it! I may be out 29 bucks.

oredered the Buxton bag weeks ago. got a postcard saying they were back ordered did I want to cancel my order. was skeptical about it being a rip off so i sent it back saying cancel it. ten days later i received it. got the upgrade leather and the first thing my mother said was what was that smell! she advised me to let it air out outside over night. my question was where were the instructions! they should at least explain to you how to use this "wonder bag" to its fullest!

I ordered mine Feb 1 and STILL have not received it, 9 weeks later! I got the notification about the back order but did not cancel. Now am having serious second thoughts after reading all the comments about the smell, etc. I have MS and carpal tunnel so carrying a bag can leave my arms and hands very weak. Shoulder bags just don't seem to want to stay up. Why are some people receiving them within a reasonable time, or at all, when others, like me, are still waiting?! Their customer service just gives you ambiguous time frames to get you off the phone. Very unhappy.
Anonymous said…
Been waiting for 9 weeks for a order place february 10. The order processer is a third party and customer service(?) is also third party. Can't seem to find the source location of this company.

It appears that this operation is something of a ripoff in that the delayed deliveries gives them a lot of "free" money to play with. What items that get delivered apparently result from what Sears did in its early days of obtaining orders, then finding manufactures/fabricators that were willing to deliver large quantities at al price. By contracting their front/back office activities, they don't even have employees.

I ordered a bag through Signatures (a mail catalog) for a reduced price, to see what it was like, and maybe order one at the regular price in a different color if I liked it.
It arrived after about ten days.
There is a strong leather smell, but not offensive, and you can NEVER have too many pockets- I love the organizer aspect, although the shape is more long than wide, which requires adaptation.
No..its not beautiful, but who cares? Function is more important than beauty, and I like it.

I ordered this bag Jan. 01. Like most of you I kept calling and checking online at customerstatus.com only to have a recording or message saying it would be shipped within 3 to 4 weeks. On back order. Well it came the last of March and didn't last until the first of April. I drive a truck and it hangs in my truck. I only carry it when I go in a restaurant because it would hold my keys, cell phone, and credit cards mainly and all my other stuff. This piece of crap lasted about 3 days. When I placed the order, I was told they had a much better quality leather than the one advertised for an additional $10. So I said yes that is what I want. Well the leather is so thin you can almost see through it. The lining is like wet tissue paper. The magnetic snap fell out almost immediately. I have a small tri-fold wallet that is too big for the "wallet compartment". Not big enough for your check book either. I hate that net on the compartments. Small things like tweezers, hang in them and stick out. The phone pocket is so small, my tiny phone barely fits. Were it not for the velcro tab, it would not work. The strap is nylon and has these hair like threads that hang off it. You pull them off and more appear. The little metal thing that is supposed to hold it where you put it, just slips and doesn't hold it at all. I can barely get my hand into the center of the bag. When I saw the 2 bottles of water go in, I thought my small digital camera would just fit in that area. Nope...no way. My camera, in the case is 3X5 inches. Anything going in that area, falls to the bottom and I am fishing it out. I hate this bag. I was not worried about a fashion statement. I wanted a leather bag that was functional and would last a long time. I have never made a purchase I was more disappointed in. I have tried to contact them for a return, but so far haven't accomplished anything. I did notify my credit card company and they said even if I don't get a hold of them to send it back with a return receipt. They will have 15 days to credit my account or the credit card company will issue a credit for me. If you are thinking about ordering this bag, think long and hard. I am out almost $40 including shipping and I could of gotten something much nicer at Sears or Penneys for just a little bit more. I won't ever make this mistake again.

I'm so sorry that happened to you! A product should NEVER fall apart or go through "wear and tear" that quickly.

Mine came in about 4 weeks, but it smelled so bad I don't think I'll use it. And it's NOT a leather smell--it doesn't look like leather (although the unshown surface is cheapo patch-style), and there's no label saying it is. The smell is more like a petroleum/solvent smell, like some cheaper plastics. I'm sure it is some 3rd-world synthetic.
I'm am totally disappointed in it. Back to my ugly but useful "Ameribags," I'm afraid.

It took me about 7 weeks to get the bag,i had ordered the upgrade, what a joke !! the strap is not leather it looks like a canteen strap. it is sewn on wrong so the bag doesn`t stay straight and things fall out of the cheap thing.. The leather..joke.. is peeling .I absolutely hate it ,can`t send it back as I already have to much money in it. this company should be run out of business.

It's a nice bag. Who cares what it looks like. I for one don't care what a purse looks like as long as it's practical and suits me, but to each their own.

you know...some people must have some bad karma of some kind to be having so much trouble. Anything off the tv will not be shipped right away. If you have EVER ordered anything off the tv you need to order it and think of it like a present that will arrive only when you forget you ordered it. Mine came in a month and i was surprised to see it so soon. Secondly, I do not remember the add saying anything about the bag being "fashionable" or the best leather around. The non upgrade leather does not smell and is soft leather, not hard or plastic looking. This was the only thing I was actually disappointed about at first but I actually like it now because it is so flexible and although there are lots of "seams" that just means it will stay together longer. I am the queen of "needing everything you could ever need at any time" and it all fits. My wallet, which is also a tri fold, by the way, my checkbook too...in the SAME compartment..my datebook organizer, my keys, cards, coupons, deck of cards, change purse, other keys on another keychain, three chapsticks, three lipglosses, a lighter, a small brush, discount cards, bandaids, powder, oil papers, lotion, hairband, headband, pack of mini finger files, mirror, pill case with aleve, two pens, my business cards, sunblock, my work badge, various papers, and maybe some other goodies I forgot are in my bag right now. AND THE ZIPPER THAT OPENS IT ANOTHER TWO INCHES IS NOT EVEN OPEN. I find it works better that way. So the cell phone pocket is strange, but not small unless you happen to have one of those old nokia's that are as big as the phonebook. I have the new lg, which is one of the largest phones on the market and it fits perfect. I tuck the damn strap in. and do they make any cellphone pockets for the blackberry? no. so Finally, while the strap is slightly fannypackesque it functions and doesn't make my shoulder hurt like all my other bags I've ever had (since I carry so much crap). A non hurting body makes the strap and how its put on "wrong"-(is that person retarded?) the best thing! To the person with the blog as big as mine before with the terrrible story...all I can say is you must have had some really shitty karma coming your way and aren't you glad it only came in the way of a 20 dollar bag being crappy for you than something really terrible? This bag rocks for practical people who look good themselves and don't need some stupid bag to make them look that way. People don't even see my bag past my beauty and if you wear it to the back there is only a strap in front anyway, which is not stringy, unless you did something rotten and deserve it to be that way. I have had NOT ONE PROBLEM with this "ugly" bag.
Anonymous said…
The Buxton Bag is the best purse I've ever had. I am ordering 3 more. I did upgrade ($10) to higher quality leather and it is very good quality. I used to have lots of shoulder pain from my old purses, but I can now wear the bag for hours and not have a problem. I also LOVE the hands-free element - no having to keep straps on my shoulder with my left hand. I can also find things faster and more easily. Admittedly, I am not a fashionista, though I've seen many, many bags I would consider too ugly to use. Oh, yes, I did have to wait quite a while for my order, but it was well worth the wait.

Thank GOD I read this first, I was just getting ready to fill out the order form and order all three colors (who wouldn't at 19.95 a piece), but after reading your comments, I've backed out of the order form. Dangit, I was so excited to free up my hands while I carry my laptop and other items.

I purchased this bag at Walgreens, and yes, it is the same bag. I paid 14.95, and it looked great, soft leather, etc. There was a leathery smell, but I have noticed that with other bags. Anyway, I was on my way out of town, so started filling the purse on my way out the door, lol. One of the inside zippers was broken. I figured, I am on my way out of town, I can live with that. Today I noticed that one of the seams was starting to come undone, and yes there are some stitchings coming out. I just bought the bag this past Friday,5/23/08. I was hoping I had just gotten unlucky and gotten a lemon. 2 of my friends have this same bag with no problem. I was going to go ahead and buy another one, but I am seriously thinking of looking elsewhere for a new purse. I am glad I stumbled on this site, as I think it has a fair representation of complaints/complements on this bag. I was pretty disappointed in the quality of the stitching and zippers, but I love the functionality of the bag, if it would just hold together. If I decide to pick up another bag, I will definitely take it out of the box at the store and do a little tugging on it.

My daughter has seen this ad on TV and has been begging me to get one. I don't want one, but she thinks I need one. After reading all posts I wonder if Buxton is using more than one manufacturer. According to the posts, some seem to be well made and others seem to be poorly made. How do you ensure which one you will get? I am not going to order one, but think I might take my daughter to Walgreens and show her one just to get her to stop asking me to get one.

I was going to fall for this scam, but stopped short. I usually carry an LV and love it. But I need a bag for my travel to India this year, and messenger style is the safest for India, definitely not designers.
A nice website I found (and I have been using their laptop cases for a while now) is briefcase.com
I'm looking at their site for messenger bags.
Any other sites for decent messenger bags?

I ordered this back about a month ago over the phone. It is true that they try to sell you everything under the sun. However, when it arrived in two weeks, I was amazed. It is genuine leather and smells like it. It doesn't smell bad, no stitching problems and I take it with me everywhere. This purse is very practical - I take it to work and lots of outings with our children. It can hold ALOT!!!!!!

So, for those of you who have children and need your hands free -this is a great alternative!

NEVER order an item off an informercial. Endless headaches. Look around in the stores for it (or something similar). If you wait a month or two, they show up in the drugstore on the "As seen on TV" aisle. (Tho it may not be labeled as that.)

I found this bag at Rite Aid for $20. Having seen the TV commercials, I figured I'd give it a try. If I didn't like it, it was an easy return. (NOT true of things bought off informercials or the internet!)

It took 5 days to de-stinkify it. I don't know if "Genuine Leather" means "diseased Yak skin". Finally got the smell out.

You can put a lot of SMALL things in the many many compartments. (Good luck remembering where you put what!)

But I sometimes need to carry a book or folder or 3 DVDs -- so I've gone back to my old canvas tote bag. I use the Buxton Bag when going out someplace like the theater or out to dinner, cuz it looks better than the canvas tote. And things are less likely to spill out.

But I'm still looking for "the perfect bag"!

My two cents.....I ordered this bag, received it in about 2 weeks. It does NOT feel like plastic (and I DIDN'T get the $10 upgrade), it ISN'T falling apart (after having carried it for over 6 months now), and it DOESN'T and never did have a bad smell. No problems at all.

I ordered this bag online 6/5/08, hoping to avoid the sales pitches. Be careful if you order online: they still try to get your to order extra upgrades and stuff. The site offered a "free" voice memo recorder. The recorder costs around $7 to ship, no matter how many bag you order, so it isn't free. I haven't received my bag yet, but the site did say it would take 2-6 wks for delivery. I chose the bag because shoulder bags keep slipping off my shoulders, which is very annoying. I like messenger style bags both for safety and so they stay secure, but the messenger style bags in the stores are either too big or designed for baby stuff, with teddy bear designs on them. I am feeling discouraged after reading everyone's responses but am hoping for the best when I get the bag. And by the way: I do have a Vera Bradley bag (sheepish look on face). It was given to me, but I like it. Those quilted type bags are very popular in New Hampshire and throughout the northeast.

Wal-Marts sell this bag. They usually have a "As Seen On TV" display at a middle-point register. I personally haven't checked them out, I've just noticed the display several times and spotted the bag as I was running between health and beauty aids and groceries. Maybe you can check there and get a hands-on inspection to help you decide.

I saw this bag on TV. It also comes in tan & red. Good idea for the airlines traveler because as you know, carry-ons are limited & I don't want to wait for my luggage on arrival. I hesitate at the "look", though. I'm the kind of person who tries to carry the smallest bag possible in my daily life.

I also thought this would be a wonderful bag! Hands free! I ordered my bag online - was asked to upgrade the leather - declined. The bag was delivered within days. Smelled awful! Flimsy ... started showing "wear" within two days. The stitching on the "mesh pouch" fell apart and I started losing items. I have sent them two emails with no response. Will try calling on Monday. If I had it to do over again .... NO WAY!!!! Good luck to all!

After reading the comments, I dont want the "upgraded" buttery leather bag...I ordered by phone..took forever, no live person. After waiting a month or so, I called my credit card co. & learned that I was charged on Aug.20th for the item. Have to follow Buxton"s rules on returning item to get the charge removed. I want to see if the bag is as bad as some have said or if it will be suitable for everyday use. Anyone had luck after shipping it back to get the charge credit?

Is your "photo capturing software" the print screen button? *rolleyes*

I've been sorely tempted by this bag on TV for a long time, but I don't ever buy anything over the phone - first of all, who's to say that phone answerer isn't writing down all your credit card information into a notepad and taking it home with them, and second of all, you have to wait for and pay for shipping...

Anyway.

I went out to walgreens today after reading here that they carried them, and sure enough I found one. I proceeded to sit down on the floor and test the bag out, and after a nice half hour in the drug store, I'm the proud owner of one. Let me address some of the concerns here.

1. That's how leather smells, people. Walk into an Eddie Bauer store sometime.

2. The quality is not the best. It's also a $20 purse. Get over yourself.

3. It's not the prettiest bag in the word and it's certainly not designer. It's also a $20 purse! You know what's uglier than this bag? A canvas coach bag covered in their logo so everyone knows what you bought.

4. The strap is wide, yes, and it is made of..strap material. Not leather. However, it's easier to adjust that way and very comfortable for wearing across the body, how it's meant to be worn.

Well, overall I like the bag, and I'm gonna carry it until it falls apart. I've had everything from 400 dollar coach leather bags and 10 dollar walmart bags and they all tear up eventually with the wear I put them through. We'll see how this one does.
Me said…
No, stupid fucking bitch, my screen capture software isn't the print screen function. It's a free one you can download online.

And no, it doesn't matter how much a bag costs... It matters what the quality of the bag is like. And if you are used to trashy faux-leather and design that has no style, then YES, THIS IS THE BAG FOR YOU.

But for those of us with style, we will go for a carry-all that has some personality... Whether it costs $5000.... $500... $50... or $5...

Don't hate on people with style because they're more than happy to spend lots of money on a fine bag. One of my favorite bags is a $2 blue straw bag I got from Wal-Mart in 2002.

If you downloaded software for something you could do by pushing a button on your keyboard, then a.) I'm sorry, and b.) I'm curious, how'd anyone that stupid manage to type a complete sentence?

And didn't I mention I've had four HUNDRED dollar Coach leather bags before? They fell apart just like the cheap ones.

Nevermind. Go play with your Bonzi Buddy. I'm going to see what else I can stuff in my purse.

I've seen the commericals for this and I'm not too impressed with it. Does anyone know if there are similar products like this but you can get them in stores like Target? I mean... functional like the Buxton but stylish as well?
I volunteer for various sporting events and music events and I'm just looking for something like this.

And since when Buxton started making bags like the one on tv? I thought they just make wallets and other accessories? Is this bag made by the *actual* Buxton company or is it by another company that is just using the brand name?

Also for those who have problems with the company...have you reported it to the Better Business Bureau? If I ran into problems like that...I would file my complaint to the BBB in a heartbeat.

It's just a thought.

Got my two bags today. I ordered on Buxtons "official" website, didn't want two bags, I checked that I was interested in learning more about the "better" quality bag. No way to undo the quantity. So I got two of the EXACT same crappy bags today. Quality is awful- called customer service, 866-389-3774. Told the guy I wanted to return the bags. He sounded like a robot _ it's high quality leather, he say, I even have one. I tell him it's not high quality, nicely. He continues to sound like a Stepford wife, same thing over and over. Finally, I say, doesn't matter, want to return and get my $67.80 back. OK he says, but you pay postage and we charge you $17.90 for shipping and handling.!!!!!!! Now I know I've been ripped off and more than that, I'm sure my credit card has been compromised. Don't fall for this bag - after searching web sites, I am finding that there are people out there who are actually paid to write good reviews. Unbelievable!!!!!

Ever since my carjacking in March, I have wanted to change my purse -- I did not surrender my purse to the thug , but it's still a reminder.

I have seen this Buxton bag advertised and looked it up online and thought , hh'mmmmm , maybe it would be what I'm looking for as I do like to be organized.

I recently found it in Bed, Bath and Beyond and while I did not find the feel of the 'genuine leather' to be plastic, I still did not purchase the bag.

For BBB, even tho the box showed brown bags or black bags, the contents of each box was a black bag , so what's up with that BBB? And to Buxton or whomever they have contracted to make this bag , why do they feel it's necessary to stamp the words "genuine leather" on the outside of the bag?

I do want to thank you all, because you have provided some valuable insight and food for thought.

While I just cannot afford the $165 organizer, it would probably serve a lot of people very well.

Has anyone checked out the Wilsons Leather site??
http://www.wilsonsleather.com/

If I remember correctly, this is where I bought my last bag and it's holding up very very well.

While not as economical as the $20 Buxton bag, they do have a couple of shoulder bags in the $50-$70 range that are organizers - I think one is even on sale. And their quality is excellent.

Just a thought for those who may still be looking for another option.

I have a great organizer bag, which I got in a department store--it is the Hobo brand. I paid twice as much, and it is microfiber instead of inferior leather, but I constantly get compliments on this bag when I wear it - for instance, when traveling. My advice would be to pay a little more for a quality organizer bag. By the way, I don't use this bag daily, so I am often confused by all the zipper and pouches, and find myself hunting for things just as I would in a bag where I've dumped them all in the bottom. But for traveling, when I've organized things and remember, it is great!

Hey! I'm thinking of getting this for my mom... is there anything I should know???

Yes, apparently a lot of people are unhappy with the as seen on tv site(s?). I got mine from hsn (home shopping network). It's on their website, too -just put Buxton in the search.
They have different colors, but personally, I like the black.
It's not a fashion statement, but it's handy, inexpensive, great for travel/sightseeing, and hsn is reputable.

Take a look at this website at dreamproductscatalog.com

Their bag is selling for 14.97 or two for 22.46 with 6.95 per purse for shipping. Then I went to their site and it states free shipping with orders of 30.00 or more.

They have a nice catalog of products and have some seen on TV items. They also have another more stylish purse the 2in1 Magic Handbag that has a side unzipped purse that you can detach if you want a smaller bag for the day. It runs 19.97 that has 6 pockets and 5 credit card pockets.

I have been looking at this bag for a few weeks now. I need it as I use crutches and thought the bag would be ideal for this purpose. But after reading all (well most) of your comments its making me think again. What I would like to know is where people are getting it from, I have seen one advert on www.pitchwell.com and another on an american site, do all the comments come from bags bought from one site or both? Has anyone any other suggestions as to a bag that is similar but better quality that you can wear across the shoulder with lots of space and pockets for crutch users? Regards Monika

This bag is the worst possible bag ever made. The zippers fall off, it's falsely advertised as a product which will hold heavy things, but it falls apart within days of use. Please do not buy this bag, it's a complete waste of money.

I purchased this bag from www.seentvcanada.com and have to say I was pretty happy with it. The bag costs $20 ... what more do you people expect for 20 dollars ??

I ordered the bag about a year ago. It came on time (within 2 weeks). I love this bag.I think they should market it in black and brown geared for men. Screw you bitchy ass women. You want an organized, excellent means of a man to carry a lot of stuff without looking feminine then this is the bag for you. Stop calling it a purse and consider it more a mini side pack. I use it for touring, outings, overnight, camping, and carrying my pistol and ammo. Is it coach? No but is it a good satchel? Yes. As for this crap about cheap leather .... mine has held up for a year. Just ordered 2 more. You people don't like it shut the hell up and don't buy it!!!!

Hi There,

I respect your opinion and I appreciate the information that you put in your post. However, I just wanted to say that I prefer the Buxton bag because of its usage. It just suit my lifestyle. Thanks.

Honestly, I think the Butler Bag is uglier.

I have used a Buxton for about three years and love it, In my basic, daily life, I have no need to be a fashion plate, I just want to be organized and reasonably efficient in my life.

On dress up occasions, I use a cocktail bag, but for daily life, IMHO, you can't beat this little well-organized bag.
