September Issues - UK???

It's early August. This means I am holding my shiz together till the September issues of the glossies come out. I picked up Elle (US) yesterday. No others (of the ones I read) are out yet. I check the newsstand in my work building every Tuesday. I know I will have to wait till next week for new ones.
So imagine my surprise when I visit a news magazine store down the street (which has a much wider selection that includes international magazines) and see some September issues... OF UK GLOSSIES!
Really? Vogue UK is already out IN THE US, and I have to wait till at least next week for the American version?
