She Made Some Lemonade With Them Lemons... And I'm Drinking It All in.
Did you catch Beyonce's Lemonade last night? If not, it may be too late. At least for those of us with HBONow, as it comes off of it today.
But I made sure to watch it last night. And it was stunning.
Dubbed a "visual" representation of her new album, Lemonade was a listening/viewing party for all with the invite (HBO).
It was a poem... Weaving the intentions and themes of the tracks together in a story told from a women's point of view... The woman being Beyonce's character - and she covered betrayal, infidelity, anger, love, passion...
And the songs naturally fell into place.
It was a feast for the eyes.. Flipping from black and white to very rich colors...
And the styling... From the shots to the costumes... I loved it all.
It was raw and cold...
But also soft and warm.
It was incredibly feminine. So, "strong", by my definition of the word.
And there were inclusions of intimate moments from her life. We got to finally see some of her wedding dress from eight years ago...
And even though I was always a total conspiracist that she actually gave birth to Blue Ivy (I was convinced she used a surrogate - her bun, just someone else's oven)...
She shared video of her pregnant. Swollen belly and all.
