Along The Amazon: In Search Of The Pink Dolphin.
The shift of the retreat location from the jungle to off the river meant more excursions away from the camp. Last time, there was a river excursion and a jungle walk. This time, we had twice-daily excursion opportunities that were organized. The first being to head out on the river in search of the pink dolphins.
We traveled up the river about 30 minutes to a point where two portions of the water meet. The guide on the boat made a special whistling call with his mouth, and after a few minutes the creatures surfaced...
They wouldn't come close enough to the boat for us to get a close look. But they played quite a bit when called.
Their color was a vibrant purple-pink "bubble gum" color.
They were gorgeous... Despite actually being ugly creatures, shape-wise.
