"No Thanks 'Scary' Healey. Deval All The Way!"

Ahh... Halloween is almost here... And so is election day. Time to get "scared?"

It's official, the Boston Globe is all for Deval Patrick as Massachusetts next Governor. And I (and MANY citizens of this state) agree with them.

For the past few weeks, many of us have been increasingly turned off by the type of campaign the Republican candidate, Lt. Governor Kerry Healey, has chosen to run. Deval Patrick made a choice early on in his campaign to not run a blatantly demonizing campaign. And he upheld that choice and played by the rules he set up. He's a man of his word.

"Scary" Healey, on the other hand, prefers to take situations out of context and blow them up in an negative ad for Deval Patrick.

As a woman, and (actually) a registered Republican (though I RARELY vote that way), I am OUTRAGED by this type of ad. Not only, as I wrote before, does it take Deval Patrick's comments completely out of context... It also sends the message that Kerry Healey thinks the voters of Massachusetts are dumb and lazy.

News Flash Kerry Healey: Massachusetts voters are some of the most educated voters in the country. We know how to research claims you and any candidate for public office make on television. (Hello! It's only a matter of going to Google and searching!) So when you produce and buy airtime for an ad like the one above, you're sending the message that you think you can scare voters into thinking that Deval Patrick is weak on crime and more concerned with helping convicted felons than women.

Kerry Healey is the one who should be ashamed, and not Governor. I can't wait till Deval Patrick wipes her out in the election in a few weeks.

I think that "The Missus" should do her political blogging on a national scale and as a weekly column with a point and counterpoint between her and someone of altering views. They can syndicate it on several of the stringer sites such as Digg and Netscape and maybe gain some cross blog traffic.

I don't know if you ever read Mike Mennonno's blog (it's great), but he's had several fantastic posts about Healey's smear campaign. This one is just brilliant.

I'm with the Missus. There is no way I would ever vote for Healey after the way she has assumed MA voters, especially female voters, are too stupid to figure out her scare tactics.
