Clarisonic Face Thingie.
Since it is the end of the month, it was time for my end-of-the-month-facial.
Yes, a nice deep cleaning of my skin was rightly in order this evening. After work I hop, skipped and nearly jumped my way across The Common to Exhale Spa to see the lovely Galina for my regularly scheduled appointment.
As soon as I laid down, she analyzed my skin under a brightly lit magnifying glass...
"Your skin is looking much better," she observed. (Which is so very true. I think I have finally reversed much of the hormonal damage from the Scary Clomid Incident of 2007.)
"Thank you," I said to her.
"You just have this one bump on your forehead," she said. Which I didn't really need her to, as I noticed it in yoga class two nights ago and saw it begin to form.
"Yes," I agreed with her. "Can you take care of it tonight?"
I hate "taking care" of these types of things myself. I will stop in and see a professional (dermatologist/facialist) to take care of any "problems" that are not superficial, and won't go away on their own in a few days.
"No," she said. "It's not ready, and I am sure it will go away on her own in a few days. "
She also observed that my skin has a good tone to it now, and that even though I am 31, I don't have any wrinkles. (Knock on wood!)
"Yes," I agreed. "Sunglasses and daily SPF have been good for me." "You also have very thick skin, which helps," she informed me.
"Really?" I thought. "I had no idea I had thick skin. If anything, I am too thin-skinned and get upset easily."
But I said nothing. I just let her go about her work... Cleanse, ultrasound blade, enzyme peel, lip balm application, conditioning mitts placed on my hands, facial massage, extraction, ultrasound healing and serum.
At the end of the session, she recommended I get one of the new Clarisonic brush systems that hit the market earlier this year.
"It gives you a nice deep clean and you can use it every day," she said.
"I have heard great things about it," I admitted. "And I heard one blogger even used it on her bum and it got softer!"
She laughed.
"The person who trained us on using it here said you could use it to help fight cellulite," she said. "It is powerful, but I doubt it would help a ton with that."
We both agreed that it was probably best used on face, neck and the back of the arms.
I walked out of Exhale with one. And now it is charging in my bedroom. I will use it for the first time tomorrow night. Expect a review of it sometime next week.
