Rodarte For Tar-Zjay.

I was very excited when I heard that Rodarte was doing a line for Target.

Yes, that's right... "WAS."

Now, after having seen some more pictures of the pieces online, I am not so sure...








Perhaps it's the model and the goth-way they styled these pieces in the photo shoot. I am hoping the individual pieces will look more polished online. And I am NOT loving the lace tights.

The line launches on the Target website on Sunday.

Oh no! That is so tacky and very unfortunate. Is it really the same designer? I mean the last collection was lovely. The ballet flats and handbags were fantastic.

I think the sweaters might look nice with different outfits, but I'm not usually inclined to wear layers that do nothing to keep me warm. It's too freaking cold here for that.

I think it's the styling. Seriously, who would wear an entire yellow outfit? And I think the model is fugly.

Thankfully, the first piece I saw was the cute pink top in this blog post: http://thegreyestghost.wordpress.com/2009/11/19/more-rodarte-for-target/. Because if I would have seen that lookbook first, I would have thought the same thing.

Also, the styling is much better in this video - which makes sense, since it was done by the Mulleavys themsevles: http://www.style.com/stylefile/2009/12/exclusive-rodarte-tavi-and-target-team-up-on-video/.

I'm waiting until I see it in real life before deciding.

Um the styling is awful. I would never buy that stuff. I like Roadarte and I'm sure the line is great but the lace tights are very distracting, not in a good way.
