24 Hours In San Francisco.

The Husband and I leave tomorrow morning for the first part of our journey to Melbourne for the holidays.  We will be in San Francisco for about 24 hours.

We get there at noon SF time tomorrow.  And we are staying in a hotel near the airport.  I'm thinking that it would be fun to head into the city for Christmas Eve though.  So I wanted to ask you people...
  • Anything we should definitely see?
  • Anything we should definitely do?
  • Any place we should definitely eat dinner?
If y'all have ideas, leave them in the comments.  Thanks!!!!

Walk down Market Street until you hit the Embarcadero. For some sightseeing, turn right and head toward the Golden Gate Bridge. It's a few miles away, and you might not make it to Golden Gate Park, but you'll pass all sorts of fun little shops and parks.

If you're hungry, turn right and head toward the Bay Bridge. About four or five blocks down on your right hand side are two little restaurants with outdoor seating. Grab a table, get a bottle of wine, and watch the world go by on the bay.

If you like sourdough, go down to the wharf to Boudains. And take a heavy coat, it's going to be cold!

If you like mediterranean food and are going to be in the embacadero anyway, go to kokkari at 200 jackson street.

check it out on yelp: http://www.yelp.com/biz/kokkari-san-francisco

and then you can take a short walk over to the pier 1 marketplace and browse through their cute shops and gourmet markets (tons of organic, fancy-pants foods, crafts, etc).
