So Thinking Rome...

... for Labor Day!

I keep trying to think of places I would like to visit for Labor Day... And I keep coming back to Rome. But is it a good idea for a woman traveling alone?

Thoughts?

I went to alone Rome as part of three city trek through Italy I did 3 years ago - and it was amazing. I actually wished I had more time to spend there instead of heading onto Florence. I never felt unsafe, men only bothered me in the very touristy areas like the Colluseum, other than that was an amazing trip. Most of the nicer hotels are around the Spanish steps which is central to all the major sites - I found one a little further out near Santa Maria Magiorre which wasn't far and still a very nice area. Hope you have a great time!

Rome can be difficult for a woman on her own - but honestly any city can be. As long as you keep your wits about you (what an old fashioned saying!)I think you should be fine. Just be conscious of what is going on around you and have fun!

Have you read Eat, Pray, Live? I just started it and she is in Italy alone and makes it sound fabulous. I did Lisbon, Portugal on my own and that was also a good place for a single gal.

(I love your blog, but I feel like a total stalker!!)
