Traditional Canada Day Cuisine?

In Canada, July 1st is known as "Canada Day."

It is Canada's birthday. Just like July 4th is the U.S.A.'s birthday.

There are BBQs. Fantastic "Canada Day Sales." Fireworks. Pool parties. Alcoholic drinks pulled from coolers.

Yes, it is just like in the States. Only the domestic beer here is 10 times better.

Canada may lack a national cuisine... But they do have good beer. And domestic wine.

This reminds me -- I once ate at Canoe in Toronto. Very, very good "modern Canadian cuisine." On top of a skyscraper -- so high up, it literally made me nauseous, which is why I was glad we sat far away from the window.

Happy Canada Day! In my office of 9 people(in NYC)2 are Canadian. We made sure to pull out all our Canada jokes today. It was the bestest Canada Day ever!

Poutine, baby. Fries, gravy, cheese curds. Sooooo bad for you, but soooo delicious.

Rebekah... You should send them a card that reads: "Happy Canada D'Eh!"

Mommy: I have yet to try poutine. My understanding is that it is best when tried after a long night of drinking. Or when it is really, really cold out.
