The Devil (Was Supposed To) Wear Weitzman.
Let me just start with, "I loved the film 'Juno.'" It was a very enjoyable film. I know no one who didn't like it.
But you know what (or, rather, whom) I don't like? I don't think I like Diablo Cody, the writer of Juno.
Apparently "el Diablo" got herself in a tizzy prior to the Oscars when she found out shoe designer Stuart Weitzman was using her for free publicity.
See, Diablo Cody was one of the Academy Awards attendees that was asked to wear a $1 million pair of shoes designed by Stuart Weitzman. And she was upset (and refused to wear the shoes) when she realized that Stuart Weitzman (the brand) gave them to her in hopes that she would be asked about them on the red carpet.
Does she not understand how the whole "perks" thing works in Hollywood? Seriously?
See, Diablo, when designers give you (or let you borrow) free shit they expect to get some publicity out of it. Likely, it's publicity that takes no effort on your part to gain. So why are you bitching?

It goes back to my opinion of celebrities and the media coverage they get... When you choose to thrust your self into the public eye, by seeking fame, you are choosing to live your life in the public eye... Every moment possibly. So she is incredibly naive to think for even a moment that a FREE PAID OF $1 MILLION SHOES wasn't about free publicity.
I still must say though, the shoes she chose to go with were just awful with the dress. She needed some sparkle.
I read that from shoewawa:

So seriously... You are offered expensive shoes to borrow for the show. You even help select them. THEN you realize that you are expected to get photographed wearing them on the red carpet?
Are her deductive reasoning skills not her strong point?
