Jenna Bush's Wedding Dress.
You know... When I heard about all the hoopla around Jenna Bush's wedding, I was actually excited for her. She was living my dream of having a low-key wedding. (Which I kinda didn't get to have because The Husband wanted a fancier one.*)
I loved that she was planning on having a wedding outside, at her parents' home. It sounded cool and stress-free... With all the Texas wildflowers and the limestone cross her father had commissioned for the event. And I got even more excited when I heard Oscar de la Renta was doing her gown. I imagined we would see something simple and classy on Jenna.
I was wrong though. What we saw was crap.
With all due respect Mr. de la Renta... Jenna Bush looks like she's wearing a white dress made out of a terry cloth towel that was stuck in the dryer and now has all the little gobs of stubbly nobs on it.
She looks like she is wearing a towel. (Though her dad, the Prez, does look good in his suit.) The cut of the dress is fantastic... The material just doesn't work for her.
Kudos to her on going with out the veil though. I think veils make most brides look ridiculous. But that's just my opinion.
Overall, the rest of the wedding party (both parents, the groom and her sister) all looked fantastic in their wedding attire. It's just Jenna that didn't live up to the visual part of the bride.
*I made The Husband pay for the entire wedding, which included buying me a very EXPENSIVE designer wedding gown. Hee-hee!
