Christening Crisis...

While out at dinner with The Husband a little while ago, something dawned on me.

Something significant.

Allow me to set-it up for you...

In early October, The Husband was invited to be the Godfather to his good friend's first born. The friend told us the christening was on November 1st. So we booked flights to come up, just for the day, to attend the honorable event.

Then, earlier this week (as some of you may have read) we were informed that the christening would be taking place on Sunday the 2nd, not Saturday the 1st. So we scrambled and paid a sizable fee to get the tickets re-booked for Sunday. We were able to get booked on the first flight out of Boston into NYC (where the christening is taking place) for the day. The first flight doesn't leave till 7am though, and the christening is at 9am. But the flight to NYC is only an hour. And it should only take us 35 minutes to get into the city. So we will be right on time.

Besides, what could we do? We were already on the first flight out of the day. And we already had to re-book tickets. So there wasn't much more we could do. And besides, it's a Sunday, and we reasoned we had nothing about which to worry. Everything would likely be smooth.

Till I remembered something...

The New York City Marathon is tomorrow morning!

The start time isn't until 9:40am... But I am worried that traffic from JFK into the city will be quite congested.

So the question for tomorrow is, "Will we make it on time?"

I am seriously thinking we will not make it on time. But, you know what? I am not stressed about it. This trip has already cost us a lot of money. We were given incorrect information. We are going to do our best... And we will be there eventually... But we may not be on time.

I am not going to let that thought ruin my day.

You made the best decision with the information given. If you don't make it, there is nothing you can do. Obviously the christening is not that important if the parents couldn't even remember what day of the week or date it was happening.
