The Real Housewives Of New Jersey?
No... No... No... Why would they do this?
My friend Bon-fier sent me an email last night, telling me she had heard that the next evolution of the "Real Housewives of ..." show on Bravo was going to involve New Jersey housewives.
"Real Housewives of New Jersey? What? Are you kidding me? Do they just go to the mall and down the shore?" she wanted to know.
At first I didn't believe her. I thought she was just yanking my chain. But a Google search quickly proved her right... There will be a show called "The Real Housewives of New Jersey."
I wonder what exactly will make this series different from the other two? Will the women be just as tacky? Will they be actual "housewives," or will they work?Will they give their kids names like "Francois?" Will they send their slightly chubby 14 year old daughters away to a spa to have a juice fast and colonics?
Yeah... I'll admit it... I am intrigued.

For the friends and family members of the housewives, I suggest you ignore any blogs or forums about the show until at least 3 months after the season airs. Bravo is looking for drama and they will not portray the people you love in a positive light. Sadly, there are people out there that will forget that the housewives are actually people and while they all have their flaws, that's what makes them HUMAN and that's something that should make people reconsider their behavior. These people are insecure or unhappy in their own lives and they judge other people to make themselves feel better, regardless of their rebuttals or justifications. There is a difference between watching the show and finding it entertaining and watching the show and feeling a smug sense of superiority. People with a firm grasp on reality know and understand that this is a condensed version of a life and that not everything is as it seems. The people that don't know that (or know, but choose not to care because it won't boost their self-esteem) aren't the kind of people you'd want to be around anyway.
Now on the other hand they may also do a generally afflunent suburb of North Jersey such as Millburn, Basking Ridge, Short Hills or Chatam because they will have a better chance of getting people who are similar in personality to the people they currently feature in their NYC, OC and Atlanta versions. They may realize that those kinds of people are the ones who have the drama.
For all of you idiots who keeping putting Jersey down, I have a few things to say. NJ is the best place to live. Someone said a couple months ago that it is probably one of the wealthiest states. Just to correct you...IT IS the wealthiest state. We have everything. We have the city right there, the jersey shore, and Atlantic city. Most importantly, there's something about people from Jersey. We are fun, loud of course, and family and friends are the most important things to us. In fact, friends are not just friends, they are family. Ask most people from NJ if they'd ever leave and 99.9% of them would say NO. Jersey is the best!
You go girls! One of the ladies has a little blue and white Chihuahua. Yeah, one that was bought from me...mylittlechi! I can't wait to see my little girl on the show.....SHOWTIME!

This show is gonna rock...
Just because we laugh or make fun of them doesn't mean we are all jealous...far from it. They put themselves out there and they don't expect us to respond?? I'm sure their families do think the ladies are wonderful but what I see from my TV perspective is a whole different story and I wouldn't change them for all the Rolexes in the Garden State.
Why were these women picked? They are not interesting. They are an insult to New Jersey woman. The whole reason why I watch The Real Housewives is to look at the interesting lifes of SOCIALITE woman and their ELITE lifestyles. Not a bunch of mobster housewives who are all related and have nothing else better to talk about than the new pasta dish and the new rock they got! They dont look classy or sound well educated. They dont seem to have a purpose other than to get a new dress to my cousins Vinny’s wedding! I doubt they know any aristocrats from New Jersey or any Famous Socialites. What is the purpose of having all these related wives, who cares? I wonder if Bravo was threatened by the mob to pick their wives or else.
They definetly prove that money is not everything.

As far as thier status, anyone can re-finance, charge thier credit and overspend. I am sure they will be on thier toes to beat out the "Jone's".
JUST REMEMEBER: It's television. Reality or not. Thier life is now a stage.
As for the "Family member" wh comments....your family has put themselves in the spotlight. This is all par for the course. Just put your energy on something else. Like having them through you in as an extra.
they are providing entertainment. and it's also educational. there are all kinds of people in the world and it's eye opening, and jaw dropping, and hilariously fun to make fun of, entertainment to see. there's nothing intellectually stimulating in the show so it's down to commenting on neanderthal forheads, shockingly stupid behaviors, bad cosmetic procedures. but it's clean fun. it's entertainment. they signed up for this. these people opened their lives to the world on television to give the rest of the world something to laugh at and make fun of and comment negatively (or postively !?!Ha!) about. they put themselves out there to give the rest of the world something to talk about. but most of all something to make fun of, and laugh at.
it may be sad for the children because this may follow them and scar them to some extent. but what child hasn't been traumatized in some way by some embarrasing thing their parents have done? of course this is to a much larger scale where the whole world is watching and laughing and commenting and it will be a long time to live down and or possibly get over.
but it seems the children are collateral damage to egotistical 'possession obsession and everybody would want to be like me' delusional characters that put themselves out there to make such a comical side splitting laugh at loud entertainment for the rest of the world to make fun of in the most petty ways. it's completely mindless and stupid and easy to make fun of and laugh at.
wasn't that what the show is all about? it makes the rest of the world feel better about themselves and their lives when they see something like this on tv. i'm trying to convince a friend from Idaho who thinks these people and their lives must be fictional as they can't possibly beleive people behave this way in reality. i finally convinced them that such people are real and people really do behave like that and really are that stupid. who else would elect to be on a show like this?
as it was said: America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without creating a civilization in-between.." and thus reality show entertainment is the perfect example of this truth.
and we live in a country where instant gratification is most sought. and many individuals who instead of finding a purpose or working at something meaningful or aspiring to some lofty goal it's simply easier to turn on the tv on and laugh at some ridiculous entertainment and make fun of people that put themselves out there and make it far too easy to mock fun at. and i feel better about my day already. i didn't have to cure cancer, treat autism, save the world, be a better person. because by comparison many people are better people without working on it when you compare yourselves and your life to these people in these reality shows.
i'm sure that RHONJ have seen their predecesors RHOOC, RHOA, RHONY and knew what they were getting themselves into, unless they are as stupid as they portray themselves to be.
of course they seem more competitive in dishing out more material and content than any of the others that will provide the audience with more laughs and more jokes and more snide remarks, much more to make fun of than any of the other previously filmed real housewives.
we the majority of the audience, since it's watched nationwide and laughed at nationwide, do not know these people intimately, and we don't want to know them, we just what to laugh and comment and make fun of whatever's put out there on the screen. of which they've more than made themselves at our disposal to do by allowing us to do just that the moment the signed on to do this.
i think when individuals put themselves out there they shouldn't complain about the results. i want to laugh at something and the NHONJ have provided the comic releif i need in my week. i have a life in research and raising children and other meaningful aspirations but sometimes i need something small and petty and meaningless and mindless that is safe to make fun of because we all need those petty moments of easy laughs. and it also provides the means and the permission to do so. the moment they put themselves out there for the world to laugh at and make fun of, or conclude anything the audience feels like doing in the comfort of their homes. and there's not much anyone can do about it until they decide not to embarras themselves in nationwide televeion. until then the audience has permission to laugh at, make snide remarks, cast judgments on, make whatever comments we please.
if we are not to judge then they should not to put themselves in the spotlight to do so. once anyone does that it's a free for all for the rest of the world to conclude and do whatever we/they please/wish.
we just made Geico caveman jokes yesterday that was just good clean fun. "so easy a caveman can do it." only in this case it was "so easy a cave woman can do it.." . only in RHONJ the forehead slope isn't cosmetically applied. so we laugh and we comment because we can. oh and we're not in NJ. folks are laughing and poking fun nationwide. i have friends in stitches in Britan. unfortunately this is also a judgement on all americans. i've got several stupid american jokes whizzed my way from international friends. and we chuckle. what can we do? but laugh it off. i'm not the one making a fool of myself on tv. there's enough folks lining up for that already apparently.
i'm glad i don't live in this town. it must be to the chagrin of some the fear of the possiblity of property values falling as a result of this town's portrayal.
Bottom line you all dress like shit! If you all have so much money then why are you all wearing your daughters clothes. I see Dina in Alice and Olivia dresses, and I am wondering why you do not own a decent piece of designer clothing. Why don't you women get yourselves a stylist because you are all in desperate need of a wardrobe upgrade. It just looks ridiculous, I am sorry but do yourselves a favor, you ladies are batting 50, time to get some new clothes and a haircut.

Im from medford (rite next to moorestown) and all i can say is i totally agree...all these losers on here saying that nj is nothing suck..ppl in jerz like us are snobs and better and we know it. so who cares about all the other cities

I love all of the skankiness of this show and I am definitely loving this post with the comments! It is very obvious "who is who"...Caroline ("my family", "coward"), Theresa (typos and bad grammar), Ashley (excessive use of "haters" and "cuz"), Dina (semi-coherent thoughts) and Jacqueline (same use of "cuz", "haters" displayed by her daughter...I mean they are the same age right?) have responded to this post.
