Tremont Starbucks: Timing & Positioning Are Critical.

No longer having to go to an office very much has its advantages for me...
  • I can (and often do) sleep in until 8:30am.
  • I can hit the 11:30am or 4:30pm yoga classes I like.
  • I can train at the gym in the afternoon, when fewer people are there and The Trainer and I have better access to equipment.
  • I can grocery shop for food each day, picking up whatever I am in the mood for at that particular moment.
  • I drink a lot less coffee.
  • I have time to read online news more thoroughly. (Including all the gossip sites.)
  • And, last but not least, I can sit in Starbucks each afternoon and enjoy sitting at a table while writing.
I used to try to come into Starbucks on Tremont Street during the weekends... But it was almost always a useless effort. There were never tables available. From the time they open till an hour or so before they close, this Starbucks never has tables available. Even during the weekdays, it can be difficult to get a table at this location. But I think I have established pockets of time where one can actually snag a table on weekdays...
  • 9:15am
  • 9:45am
  • 2:30pm
  • 4:45pm
  • 7pm and on
The day here ebbs and flows with traffic where people are committed to sitting down. And some people (I'll admit, like myself) like to camp for a few hours at a table. But sometimes this requires knowing where the outlets are at this particular location, so that you can charge your computer...

Here's where I have found them:
  • The small table to the right of the door, after you walk in... There's an outlet behind the condiment bar.
  • The tables all the way to the back, near the windows and the second door. Their a re a few outlets back there, and you have to have a long cord to reach them... But they are there.
Any other tables, though, do not appear to be near them. So it is imperative that you be strategic when coming to Starbucks. Timing and positioning are critical to your enjoyment.

I think maybe you should keep this all a secret, but it's nice to share too!!

LOL!

I thought about that, Meg. But I like to be helpful... And I think as more and more people get lair off, it's going to get crowded anyway. I may have to find a random Starbucks to go to... Or start coming at 5:45am each day, right when they open.
I've tried to write there but my Mac plug is too heavy for their lose outlets and always falls out. I've had better luck with the Boyleston store outlets.

I think you have a mac too? Maybe they got better outlets?

I do love that Bucks. Still hate their soy tho (yep still bitter)

Maybe you should just make an agreement with this particular Starbucks. You're gonna bring them in more business, they have to hold you your fav. table. It's only fair really ;)

LOL! My first Macbook has the big heavy plug too. My new one has the heave plug and the three-pronged plug... So I can use either.

And.. I can confirm that the Barnes & Noble Starbucks does have the Silk Soy milk. I had it this afternoon.

It's great that you can (and DO!) practice during some of the less busy times! I am sometimes annoyed with all of the chitter-chatter before and after the evening classes. Soon I plan on hitting some morning classes to avoid the busiest times!
