"Funky Boston" Attire?

I have an event coming up soon, and the dress code on the invitation reads "Funky Boston." Anyone have any idea what that means?

I am definitely think dark jeans. And carrying my funky boho Balenciaga vermillion-colored bag.  But everything else? Jewelry? Top? Shoes?

I have no freaking idea!

If you know what "Funky Boston" is, please let me know.  I would be most grateful.

I think "funky Boston" is anything that isn't a baseball cap and a hoodie.
Ohhhh I say leggings or skinny jeans, boots, a blazer with the sleeves rouched (sp) a tailored shit (colar popped, this is Boston) a cool broach or some funky earings and your bag. i think that pretty "Boston" but not sure how to do funky.
oh and aviator sunglass. Can't get more boston than that!

Personally, I'm a firm believer that "funky" is not an adjective that should ever be used to describe good fashion. It's a word that reminds me of funkytown, the 80's and sour milk.

But I have no doubt that you'll bring fantastic fashion sense to the event :)

To me, the fashion statement that screams Boston is a pair of those navy khaki pants with little whales on them, a fabric belt in a contrasting color, and a polo shirt with the color up that matches the color of the whale.

And of course on the feet? Sperry topsiders. It's not funky, but it's Boston all the way.
